ABout us - Living Waters Assembly of God

The Assemblies of God was founded in 1914 in Hot Springs, Arkansas, with 300 people at the founding convention. Today, there are nearly 13,000 churches in the United States, with over 3 million members, and more than 69 million members worldwide, making the Assemblies of God the world’s largest Pentecostal denomination. The four core beliefs of the Assemblies of God are Salvation, Baptism in the Holy Spirit, Divine Healing, and the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.

Living Waters Assembly of God (LWAOG) is an ever-growing and changing church family, located in Greenfield, Massachusetts.  We are an Evangelical Church, meaning we are in agreement with the Christian gospel, especially as it is presented in the four Gospels of the New Testament: Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.  We also have classical Pentecostal roots. For more information on our beliefs, see What We Believe here.

Our beliefs are based on the Bible, and our mission is very simple: to lead people to honor and glorify God, and His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ.  That means we are not about a building, or some complicated religious system, but about helping people from all backgrounds discover the joy and freedom that comes from knowing and serving Jesus Christ. We seek to present Jesus, the Messiah, through Worship, Evangelism, Discipleship and Compassion ministries, and strive to present every person complete in Christ, mature, fully trained, and perfect in Him. Colossians1:26-28

Click here if you would like an idea of What To Expect when you visit our church. Also, we have answered other questions you may have before visiting us, which you can see here, at Plan Your Visit.

We invite you to come and check out one of our Worship Services or Events. We know you will find LWAOG a place where you feel you belong.

God made a promise in the Bible that if we seek after Him, we will find Him. Matthew 7:7-8.  You are a valued part of God’s creation, and His deep desire is to be in a relationship with you. So, come and join us as we worship Him!

Family-Oriented

We are a family-oriented church, and we greatly value the entire family. No matter your family makeup, you are welcome at Living Waters Assembly of God, and we are excited you are considering being a part of our family in Christ!

Children are a gift from and for God. Psalm 127:3. We believe in God's Word that says, Teach children the right way, and when they are old, they will return to it. Proverbs 22:6

Children's church (Sunday school) is held simultaneously with our worship services. So, parents can relax and hear God's Word, while the children receive an age-appropriate, warm and loving environment to encounter and learn about Jesus Christ.

We also have a nursery for parents with smaller babies or infants, who feel they must leave the chapel for any reason.  The service is broadcast on a television in the nursery as well, for the parents' convenience.

Leadership

LWAOG is guided by inspired Church Leadership, who provide overall direction and watch over the spiritual needs of our church family. Our pastors are equipped to provide sound, practical and Biblical teaching and sharing of God's word. In addition, other gifted teachers and speakers also share the word of God at scheduled services. We are blessed to have a leadership team that is truly dedicated to Christ and accomplishing His Will.

Prayer

Prayer is an integral part of Living Waters Assembly of God. Each worship service is followed by a time of prayer in the chapel, around the altar or in the pews, where worshippers, either alone or with others, quietly or out loud, pray over each other and the Prayer Requests that have been submitted by people who are hurting right now, in pain, in fear, and in need of a refreshening of Spirit or body. We encourage all worshippers to remain after the worship service, even if only for five minutes, and either pray, or receive a prayer.

You can submit a Prayer Request here, or by emailing  AssemblyOfGod01301@yahoo.com.

Prayer is powerful, and God's Word tells us to "pray without ceasing."  1 Thessalonians 5:17

"The prayer of faith shall save the sick." James 5:15

Join us in prayer and be filled with the peace that passes all understanding.  Philippians 4:7

God Bless You! We hope to see you at our next Worship Service!

Holy Communion

The Lord's Supper, consisting of bread and the fruit of the vine (grape juice) is the symbol used to express our sharing of the divine nature of our Lord Jesus Christ 2 Peter 1:4, a memorial of His suffering and death, and a prophecy of His second coming 1 Corinthians 11:26, and is imposed upon all believers "till He come!"

At LWAOG, we celebrate the Lord's Supper every month by partaking of Holy Communion, 'bread and fruit of the vine' (grape juice).

We hope you will join us to honor Jesus Christ for His sacrifice.

Baptism In Water

The ordinance of baptism by immersion in water is commanded by the Scriptures. All who repent, or turn away from sin, and believe on Christ as Savior and Lord, are to be baptized. Thus, they declare to the world that they have died with Christ, and that they also have been raised with Him, to walk in newness of life, or be 'born again': Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:16; Acts 10:47-48; Romans 6:4

Baptism in Water allows each member of the congregation to grow in his/her relationship with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and also provides the following life-changing benefits:

Baptism In The Holy Spirit

All believers are entitled to, and should, ardently expect and earnestly seek the promise of the Father regarding Baptism in the Holy Spirit and fire, according to the command of our Lord Jesus Christ, as was the normal experience of believers in the early Christian Church. With Baptism in the Holy Spirit comes the enduement of power for life and service, the bestowment of the gifts, and their uses in the work of the ministry: Luke 24:49Acts 1:4Acts 1:81 Corinthians 12:1-31

The benefits and experiences associated with Baptism in the Holy Spirit are completely distinct from, and subsequent to, the experience of the new birth, or Baptism in Water.  Acts 8:12-17Acts 10:44-46Acts 11:14-16Acts 15:7-9

With Baptism in the Holy Spirit come such experiences as:

an overflowing fullness of the Spirit: John 7:37-39Acts 4:8

a deepened reverence for God: Acts 2:43Hebrews 12:28

an intensified consecration to God and dedication to His work: Acts 2:42

and a more active love for Christ, for His Word and for the lost: Mark 16:20

How do you know if you have been baptized in the Holy Spirit?

The baptism of believers in the Holy Spirit is witnessed by the initial physical sign of speaking with other tongues as the Spirit of God gives them utterance: Acts 2:4Acts 10:44-46Acts 19:1-6. This practice is performed quietly by some worshippers during Worship Service.

The speaking in tongues that occurs from Baptism in the Holy Spirit is, in essence, the same as the gift of tongues, but is different in purpose and use: 1 Corinthians 12:4-10; 1 Corinthians 12:28
